CP Carga - Logística e Transportes Ferroviários de Mercadorias S.A was brought to life on the second of August, 2009. It´s sole shareholder is the CP Train de Portugal EPE. It´s operations are mainly based in the Iberian Peninsula, but their prospect stretch out throughout the European continent.

CP Cargo SA provides transportation services for combined and multimodal traffic, solid and liquid bulk, steel products and building materials, raw materials and forest products, cars and car components. The company is equipped with 2700 vehicles, which are able to transport all kinds of goods.

The company provides complete logistics solutions, integrating various transportation modes for the traffic of goods within the Iberian peninsula, operating under the trademark "Cargo-Logistics Portugal".

The Fundación de los Ferrrocariles Españoles (Spanish Railway Foundation) is entrusted with the recovery, custody and dissemination of historical, cultural, scientific and technological rail heritage. It was established on February 20, 1985 by the National Network of Spanish Railways (RENFE)-currently split into Renfe Operadora y el Administrador de Infraestructuras Ferroviarias (ADIF) (Renfe Operator andAdministrator of Rail Infrastructures ) - and the Ferrocarriles de Vía Estrecha (FEVE) (Narrow Gauge Spanish Railways) (LVEF).

The Société Nationale des Chemins de fer Français (French National Railway Company) was established in 1937. Renfe is a state-owned passenger and freight rail transport operator overseen by the Ministry of Public Works.

Autoterminal is the mutimodal terminal of vehicles from the Port of Barcelona, specifically created to this end, charging and discharging vehicles from ships, lorries and trains.

In March of 2001, existing promotion centers and the European Commission agreed to the establishment of a coordinated action of Short Sea Shipping centers throughout Europe. It was through this that the European Short Sea Network (ESN) was created - in order to reinforce their individual actions. Each national association keeps its independence but, for consistency, they use a common English name: "Shortsea Promotion Centre – Country".

The Department of Nautical Science and Engineering within the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya ( UPC ) delivers the Degree and second cycle Programs at the Faculty of Nautical Studies of Barcelona (FNB). A doctorate programme covering several maritime disciplines is also available. This department carries out teaching, research and external advice to the Industry and Government bodies. Teaching includes subjects such as Naval Engineering, Ship Stability, Marine thermal plants, Ship Transport, Sea Fishing, Maritime Business Administration, Marine Engineering, Maritime law and Medicine at Sea.

The School Náutica Infante D. Henrique is a public polytechnic school under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Higher Education of Portugal. Located in Paço de Arcos, the Nautical School is now the heart of modern complex of nautical studies. It is the only national school in Portugal dedicated to the training of Merchant Navy Officers and senior management officers of the port and maritime sectors in the areas of Intermodality, Management and Logistics.

Located in a growing city, the university since its inception, has established comprehensive university and turned to professionalizing teaching to meet its economic and social development. With over 160 courses offered - more than half of a professional nature - the University of Evry offers as part of its training courses in science and technology, law, economics and management, and the social sciences.

Rete Autostrade Mediterranee was founded in 2004 with the aim of developing the program of "Motorways of the Sea" in relation to the European project under the General Plan of the Trans-European Transport Network TEN-T Executive Agency.
