The Mediterranean

Although the school is European, it is essentially Mediterranean. The rediscovery of the Mediterranean Sea as a natural enviroment of coexistence should be based on the recognition of the common philosophical heritage of the inhabitants of the Mediterranean regions. We should all make an effort to develop good neighbourly relations, following the proposals of the Euromediterranean Conference of Barcelona 1995 , relaunched by Italy, France, Portugal and Spain.

The cooperation between governments must necessarily include sufficient elements for a business-economic development of all the Mediterranean countries and be seen as instrumental in the bringing about of a good society; the training activities that the Escola organises should facilitate the achievement of these goals. The revolution that the world, and the Mediterranean in particular, needs today is a revolution of knowledge.
