In October, the Escola Europea de Short Sea Shipping (2E3S.eu) welcomed three groups of foreign students to offer them one of its MOST (Motorways of the Sea Training) Management course.
From 8th to 11th October, a first group of 20 students of the Logistics and International Business Management Degree, from the Hogeschool Gent university college of Belgium, attended the course, which took place on board of a Grimaldi Ro-Pax vessel on the short sea shipping route between Barcelona and Civitavecchia (Rome).
From the 15th to the 18th, another group of about fifty students, coming from the Technological University of Panama and the ESAN Graduate School of Business of Peru, embarked on the same vessel accompanied by the Escola’s teachers to participate in an intensive 4 days training in intermodal logistics, short sea shipping services, the Motorways of the Sea, transport technologies, as well as the European Union’s environmental policies on transport. The ESAN students participated in the Escola’s course in the framework of an international exchange with the University La Salle.
In addition to the theoretical lectures, the students had the opportunity to participate in workshops and practical visits inside the vessel. During the trip, they could observe and experience the short sea shipping activities first hand by seeing real-life intermodal transport operations.
