From 22nd to 25th September, a group of 24 professionals from Spanish and multinational companies located in Spain took the MOST Barcelona training course organised by the Escola Europea de Short Sea Shipping – 2E3S.eu. The course took place on board of a Grimaldi Lines Ro-Pax vessel on the crossing between Civitavecchia (Roma) and Barcelona.
The course, focused on intermodal logistics, short sea shipping services and Motorways of the Sea, gathered professionals from various companies, such as Inovyn (chemistry), El Corte Inglés (department store), Universal Global Logistics (transport and logistics), Adur (software), EuroCargo Express (transport and logistics) and Arup (management services), amongst others, and port authorities (of Barcelona, Huelva, la Bahía de Algeciras and Motril).
In addition to the lectures offering a theoretical approach and to the workshops and visits which gave the participants the opportunity to observe intermodal operations firsthand, the course also hosted networking sessions. The participants had the opportunity to increase their contacts with professionals and experts of the Spanish sector. After the four days of training, the participants could obtain the keys to build efficient supply chains that incorporate the motorways of the sea.
The course was carried out by experts and professionals of the Spanish market: Jesús E. Martínez, Coordinator and lecturer of the Master’s degree in Logistics and Maritime Business at Tecnocampus, UPF; Eduard Rodés, Director of the Escola and Antonio Vargas, Adviser of Grimaldi Logística España. During their stay in Rome, Eduard Rodés also participated as guest in the annual meeting of CONFITARMA, the Italian shipowners’ association, where he met its president Emanuele Grimaldi, Vicenzo Boccia Presidente of Confindustria and Graziano Delrio, Italian Minister of Infrastructures and Transport.
The Escola organizes this MOST Barcelona course for professionals with good results each year. Next year, the course will take place from 21st to 24th October and will count again on the participation of experts and professionals of the logistics and transport sector.
