Success of the 2nd edition of the MOST Italy for professionals

The MOST Italy training course for professionals, organised by the Escola Europea de Short Sea Shipping (2E3S.eu), took place from 17th to 20th September. The course, specialised in intermodal logistics, short sea shipping services and Motorways of the Sea, was the second edition for the Italian market and gathered twenty professionals this year, on board of a Grimaldi Lines Ro-Pax vessel on the crossing between Civitavecchia (Roma) and Barcelona.

The content of MOST Italy was designed exclusively for professionals coming from different transport companies, maritime agencies, port authorities and institutions of the sector. The objective was to offer participants the keys to build efficient supply chains that incorporate the motorways of the sea. In addition to the lectures which offer theoretical knowledge, the course includes workshops and visits which give the participants the opportunity to observe intermodal operations firsthand. Moreover it offers networking sessions to help the participants increase their contacts with professionals and experts of the Italian sector. In fact, what makes this course unique, as some participant explains, is the opportunity to build strong relationships: “It was really a significant experience which allowed me to get to know valuable lecturers and marvelous companions with whom I wish I’ll keep in touch.”

The course was carried out by Italian and Spanish experts and professionals of the sector, thus guaranteeing the best educational content to the participants. The teaching team included: Alessandro Feniello, Sales Freight Manager of GNV; Ana Arévalo, Short Sea Shipping Commercial Manager of the Port of Barcelona; Andrea Campagna, Consultant in transport and logistics and professor at the Rome University “La Sapienza”; Eduard Rodés, Director of the Escola; Francesco Benevolo, Director of Rete Autostrade Mediterranee, Italian association for the promotion of the Motorways of the Sea; Malcolm Morini, Marketing Manager of the Port of Civitavecchia; Marcello Donnarumma, Department Short Sea of Grimaldi Group and Vittorio Meli, Representative of the Propeller Club Port of Palermo.

At the end of the course, the Escola published the dates of the MOST Italy 2017 edition. It will take place from 30th September to 3rd October and will count again on the participation of experts and professionals of the logistics and transport sector.
